The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir to Perform During Presidential Inauguration

The six-time Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has been selected to perform at the at the official ceremony of the 57th Presidential Inauguration. The historic event is scheduled to take place on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on January 21, 2013 before an expected crowd of a half million people on the National Mall. The choir was invited by U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer (Democrat-NY and Chairman of the 2013 Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies) long before the results of the Presidential election were determined.

The group will be performing their new rendition of “Battle Hymn of the Republic”, which was arranged by the choir’s founder Carol Cymbala and its music director Jason Michael Webb. The track will be bundled with the new anthem “Let Your Kingdom Come”, led by new Music World Gospel signee Brandon Camphor, and will be released digitally on January 15.  Both tracks are part of the choir’s forthcoming Spring release Love Lead The Way, the aggregation’s 28th project.
