Tasha Cobbs Scores First #1 Single

Congratulations to Motown Gospel recording artist Tasha Cobbs whose single “Break Every Chain” sits atop the Billboard Top Gospel Songs Chart for the second consecutive week. The song is the lead single from Cobbs’ national debut effort Grace, which has spent nearly 20 weeks in the top 5 of Billboard‘s Top Gospel Albums Chart.

The powerful single was first presented and penned by Will Reagan and the United Pursuit Band in 2009 and again by Jesus Culture in 2011. However, Cobbs’ interpretation was the first within the gospel music context and has quickly resonated with listeners, becoming a hit at radio.  This single unseats Tamela Mann‘s popular anthem “Take Me To The King”, which has spent a total of 19 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. In addition, “Break Every Chain” marks the first #1 radio hit for the newly formed Motown Gospel imprint.

Cobbs has a busy summer ahead, with planned appearances at The Essence Festival, Bobby Jones Gospel, The 50th Anniversary of Dr. King’s I Have A Dream Speech, and MegaFest.
