Jennifer Mekel Preps for Destiny

Singer, songwriter, director, and psalmist Jennifer Mekel is preparing to release her debut solo effort titled Destiny. She’s become a favorite amongst the Bonnerfide Radio listening audience with her single “It Won’t Work”, featuring Doobie Powell. The Akron, Ohio native is quickly garnering the attention of consumers and industry veterans alike with her smooth tone and passionate delivery. Many are already comparing her to CeCe Winans in terms of her vocal tone and delivery, yet she presents her gift in her own unique package.

A mother of two, licensed minister, and worship leader, Mekel has penned over 50 songs and has been a featured soloist for the Akron Symphony Orchestra’s 2009 Christmas Pops. She is also the Choir Master for the annual Gospel Meets Symphony Chorus, a program that unites a community of 200 gospel singers and musicians with the Akron Symphony Orchestra, creating a sound to be enjoyed and shared by fans of both the classical and gospel genres.

She has enlisted Doobie Powell to handle production for this new project, which features guest spots from Doobie Powell, Denise Powell, Eddie Brown, Kevin Powell, and Jonathan Dubose. Look for Destiny to hit all digital outlets on Mar. 27.
