Hezekiah Walker Presents Azusa The Next Generation

With over two decades of music to his credit, the legendary Hezekiah Walker prepares to present a brand new effort which signals more of a movement than solely a project. Azusa The Next Generation marks the 14th release from the Grammy award winning gospel icon. In addition, it’s the rebirth of the famed Azusa conference and movement made popular in the 1990s by Bishop Carlton Pearson. Rebranded and relaunched, Azusa The Next Generation is a yearly conference centered in Brooklyn, NY which continues to focus on the charismatic Christian experience first experienced in 1906 as part of the Azusa Street Revival.

Azusa The Next Generation was recorded live at the 2012 gathering and features guest appearances from Donnie McClurkin, John P. Kee, Deitrick Haddon, Brian Courtney Wilson, and Timiney Figueroa. The 10-track effort, led by the popular single “Every Praise”, features Walker’s Love Fellowship Choir and the 500-voice Azusa Mass Choir. The album also features “I Feel Your Spirit”, a tribute to the late Bishop Kenneth Moales, who Walker succeeded as Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ Fellowship. Stand out cuts include: “Work In Your Favor”, “More Than A Conqueror”, and “Grace”.
