Grammy Winner Carvin Winans Set for Debut Solo Project

Five-time Grammy winning singer and songwriter Carvin Winans is set to leave the background and step out as a solo recording artist with the announcement of his debut solo release titled In the Softest Way.

Known as a member of the groundbreaking family group The Winans, the twin brother of Marvin Winans is a formidable songwriter creating songs for other artists including Whitney Houston, Regina Belle, Peabo Bryson, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Winans Phase II. In 2013, Winans joined forces with his brothers Marvin and BeBe Winans to form a new group, 3 Winans Brothers. Together, they released a self-titled project which earned the group an NAACP Image Award. Now the Detroit native is prepared to chart the course for his solo career.

Scheduled for release in early 2019, In the Softest Way is an eleven-track collection that boasts a well-balanced mix of ballads and mid-tempo songs ranging from R&B to inspirational. In addition, the album features guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Kenny G, Tony Maiden, and Winans’ twin brother.

In September, Winans released the album’s lead single “Once in a Lifetime,” which is quickly moving up the charts. Supporters who pre-order the album, will receive the singles “Once In a Lifetime” and “Misunderstood” as instant grat tracks.

In The Softest Way is currently available for pre-order at all digital outlets and is set for release on Feb. 15, 2019.
