Cheryl Fortune Takes Fighters To The Charts and Video

Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Cheryl Fortune continues to make an impact with the release of her debut single “Fighters”. A joint venture between LuDawn Music and Tyscot Records, the empowering anthem continues to climb the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart, this week entering at #26. The song booms with a catchy, marching band rhythm that is catching on in a big way.

Fortune just wrapped production on a heart-wrenching concept music video of “Fighters” that sheds light on domestic abuse, sex trafficking, suicide and addiction. The video is now in rotation on Music Choice, Centric TV and BET Gospel.

While the booming beat and message of the song is applicable to anyone facing an obstacle, it comes from a personal place for Fortune.

“The last two years have been extremely difficult for me and my family but we’re fighting our way through it,” shares Fortune. “This song was born out of that situation and it’s a message of hope to anyone who has a fight on their hands. Whether it’s a relationship, trouble on the job or a health crisis, you can fight it and win.”

“Fighters” anchors Fortune’s forthcoming solo album debut that is expected to release in the summer of 2017. As a songwriter, Cheryl Fortune has penned songs that have been recorded by gospel greats such as Shirley Caesar, Tasha Cobbs, Zacardi Cortez and Isaac Carree. She’s also co-written Billboard No. 1 hits such as “I Trust You,” “Still Able” and “Live Through It” for the Grammy Award nominated group, James Fortune & FIYA. She also co-wrote the group’s No. 2 smash, “Hold On,” which featured cameos by Fred Hammond and Monica. Over the years, Fortune has produced and arranged background vocals for recording sessions by James Fortune & FIYA and Kirk Franklin.

Look for the single “Fighters” to hit stores in the near future. In the meantime, enjoy the video treatment for “Fighters”.
