60th Annual Grammy Nominations Announced

The 60th Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced today. The announcement was made on CBS This Morning by two-time Grammy nominee Andra Day. Leading the pack is Jay-Z, who picked up eight nominations, including nods for Record of the Year (“The Story of O.J.”), Song of the Year (4:44), and Album of the Year (4:44). Fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar picks up seven Grammy nominations, including nods in all of this year’s Rap categories. Bruno Mars snags six nominations for his album 24K Magic, including nods for Record of the Year (“24K Magic”), Song of the Year (“That’s What I Like”), and Album of the Year (24K Magic).

Other multiple nominees include Childish Gambino, who picked up five nominations including Record of the Year (“Redbone”) and Album of the Year (Awaken, My Love!). First time nominee Khalid also picked up five nominations including a nod for New Artist of the Year.

In the R&B categories, Childish Gambino, Ledisi, and Bruno Mars each picked up three nominations, while favorites and independent artists PJ Morton and Daniel Caesar each grabbed two nominations.

CeCe Winans, Le’Andria, and Tauren Wells lead the way with two nominations a piece in the Gospel and Contemporary Christian categories.

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on January 28 in New York City at Madison Square Garden, beginning at 7:30p ET, live on CBS.
